The Cottage At Hope Cove by Hannah Ellis

What a fun read!  I do not think of myself as a romance reader but this book is a delightful escape from my usual reads.  The story begins with Elizabeth working hard in London as a magazine editor. Elizabeth is the poster girl for the modern woman: great job, great fiance, great house, etc.  She has scheduled a holiday by the sea for her and her fiance but out of the two workaholics she is the only one to make the trip. The story then takes the reader to the fabulous seaside town of Devon in Britain.  It is in Devon that Elizabeth’s life turns upside down. Ellis’ characters are captivating and the settings are developed to the point that visualizing exactly what they look like is easy and comfortable. Although this is definitely a romance, I would say it is more about finding real happiness, following your bliss, and figuring out what is really important in your life.  You cannot help but cheer for Elizabeth and hope that there is a second book about what happens next.

  1. Thanks so much for your lovely review. I’m so glad you enjoyed The Cottage at Hope Cove. I’m just finishing off the next book in the series so there will definitely be more of Max and Lizzie (and lots more of Josie!).
