Funny, quirky cozy mystery read! Mitchell has created a series of books about the Red Herring Inn, a family-owned operation that crosses many of society’s boundaries and does so with aplomb. Although not the first in the series, this book was a fairly easy read for not having read the first two: it did not take much to get caught up. The characters are pretty darn unique with the main character (in my mind) being Q’Beta, whose name is interesting enough! The plot is a standard storyline where a loved one fakes his death and has a ridiculous manipulative explanation, while the brother is charged with murder. In the end, it all connects with a bit of humor, struggle and lots of family love. A very fun read!
Thank you so much for the lovely review. You’ve made my day.
