The Strange by J B Murray

The Strange

Frankenstein, the Vampyre, Edgar Allen Poe, the House of Usher, and time travel.  Say what?  Yep, you got it!  All rolled into one story that is appropriately named The Strange.  This is certainly not your average horror story! The book goes back and forth between the different time periods; 1816, current, and then old letters that tell of connections between the characters.  This is your epic horror story, reminiscent of Mary Shelley’s work, oh, did I mention she is in the story as well?  The story includes some historical facts making it that much more terrifying.

A young girl beginning to get her musical career off the ground suddenly inherits a house she never knew existed.  The Will is clear, she must decide whether she wants to keep it or sell it sight unseen but this is a strong empowered woman of the 21st century who knows that no one in their right mind would make a decision without seeing the house.

Why has she never heard of the house before?  Why did neither her mother or grandmother ever mention it?  What will she find and how are all these things connected?  I can not spoil the story but if you are a fan of the macabre this is definitely for you!  J B Murray has a phenomenal imagination that provides for gripping reading.  Beware of reading after dark!
