Review
What do you get when you mix a sex tape, a small town in Texas, a rancher, and a Hollywood star with cookies? That’s right, you get Gingerbread Kisses. Lauren has written quite a Texas tale with great characters that include the feisty little old lady, the drop-dead gorgeous constable, the sexy muscle-bearing ranch hand, three adorable little boys, and the nightclub owners are just a few of her shining examples. Of course, you just can’t beat a small town in Texas for some soap opera-type drama with a happily-ever-after ending.
Lauren also does a great job of weaving subplots around the bigger storyline. Although I discovered that this is part of a series, it certainly works well as a stand-alone read. The story is rich enough to have all the makings of several more spin-off stories. Perfect for a long vacation, good enough to hold your attention the entire time, romantic enough to make you a little overheated if you read it by the pool or on the beach, and fun enough to make you want more.
