Dachshund Through the Snow by Rosie A. Point

Dachshund Through the Snow (A Very Murder Christmas Book 1) by [Rosie A. Point]

It’s Christmas time in the small town of Full Fork, NY where Holly has just returned home having ended her engagement so she can recoup and be near her best friend and Mom.  This is a darling cozy Christmas mystery complete with a loveable dachshund named Dixie.

Holly has dreams of opening her own doggie daycare one day so in order to make money, she is starting a dog walking business.  On her first day with her first client she finds the client dead and the dog she was hired to walk roaming around the house.  Holly immediately calls the police and then begins to care for the dog.  To say that Holly is a dog lover is an understatement!

Holly is of course the first suspect the police have even though most of the small town had issues with the dog owner because of how nasty mean she was.  Holly did not even know the woman and is startled that she would be a suspect.  Unfortunately, the people of the town seem to think she did the killing and turn their backs on her.  Holly quickly realizes that if she does not solve the murder quickly her dreams will go down the proverbial drain.

This is more of a novella than a full-length book.  It is a fun story with the usual quirky small-town people and the precious little dog.  It is perfect for a weekend read around the fireplace as the Christmas lights twinkle nearby.  Fast-paced, delightful characters, loads of snow, and a happy ending for everyone but the victim and the killer!
